LIFE UPDATE | trying to feel Christmassy

Pinterest
It's finally December which means that Christmas is only around the corner.  I've already done the majority of my shopping for everyone's presents but will inevitabily buy so much more than planned, which is fine, I like to spoil people especially at this time of year.  We've put the tree up and already started watching Christmas films but for some reason, I'm not feeling 100% in the Christmas spirit - I just don't think it's cold enough yet!  There's no frost, I can go out in only a jumper and scarf and be comfortable.  This morning when I was driving to uni, Merry Christmas Everybody by Slade came on, and I don't know whether it was the fact that it was 7:50 in the morning, but it felt so in your face, it was too Christmassy.  Maybe a bit of Mariah or Buble would have sufficed.

I'm going to London in two weeks to go to a load of art galleries and exhibitions, and mainly try to resist going to do even more Christmas shopping.  I've never been there at this time of the year so I'm really looking forward to experiencing it, I will definitely not be able to resist going to the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland!  I'm also excited to see what the Tate Modern has on for their Christmas market.  Maybe it will just be the one exhibition and a few quick gallery visits..

My sister, Jasmine, turned 14 yesterday so we celebrated that over the weekend and obviously on her actual birthday which was a lot of fun.  Because it's on December 1st so we always put the tree up on the same day too, so that was really exciting & puts you in the Christmas spirit a lot more!  So these past couple of weeks have consisted of shopping, drinking too many Costa Christmas drinks, and eating too many carbs - exactly what this time of year is all about.

Undeniably the best Christmas film

Necessary Costa pit stops while shopping

Most beautiful shop bought cake there is

Carb-alicious TGI Friday's with Monique

Next week I'm going to 2 gigs; Don Broco in Nottingham and Lower Than Atlantis in Birmingham which I am so unbearably excited for!!  Then obviously, I have the trip to London coming up and most exciting of all, breaking up from uni in two weeks for almost a month off - three weeks of no alarms!  I'm thinking of getting a new tattoo in the next couple of weeks too, I haven't had Marie inflict her pain on me a while and I want some new pretties.

LIFE UPDATE | Christmas shopping & New York trip

So the most amazing thing that's happening at the minute is that I'm going to New York in February!  It's with my university, and the majority is paid by a programme we have called DMU Global so it has only cost me £235 which is unbelievable - for 5 days in New York and 2 days travelling.  We go the week before my 22nd birthday so hopefully will be getting dollars from my family to buy myself loads of presents from Bath & Body Works!!!!  I'm so unbearably excited!!  I wish I was going with my boyfriend and sisters though, that would make it even more perfect.  We have spoke about going to Disneyland Paris in January though.

Image from Google Images but can't find the link, don't sue me

A lot of my time recently has been taken up by planning and buying things for Christmas.  I want my sisters to have a really nice time so I'm trying to make it the best I can.  My sister, Jasmine, has a birthday at the start of December, as well as my boyfriend's birthday so this time of the year is so expensive for me.  But I don't mind, I love buying people presents.  Christmas is the best though, I can't wait to put the tree up and decorate the house - I've done loads of present shopping, about half of it is done and wrapped up, I want to be really prepared this year!
I went to see Mockingjay part 2 last night and it's ruined me.  I knew what was coming because of the book but I didn't think I would be as emotional as I was, at really unexpected parts as well!  I want to go and see Spectre and am being dragged to see Star Wars too - a load of films I should probably watch beforehand.
Only three more weeks of being busy at uni and then three weeks off for Christmas and New Year!!!  I have this upcoming weekend off work as well so can finally have a lie in and I've never been so excited.

CHRISTMAS 2015 WISHLIST

I thought I would share with you a load of different things I am pining over for Christmas this year.  I'm not materialistic or anything, I just think that all of these products are lovely and if anyone wants to get me any then be my guest.  I will gladly get them for myself after Christmas if my family and friends don't love me enough.

MONTHLY FAVOURITES | October 2015

With October being one of my favourite months of the year, I've got lots of Autumnal favourites so I hope you enjoy reading about them!  I've been really busy this past month, I have next to no time to myself so I've been enjoying even the smallest of things this month which takes my mind off of all the uni work I'm doing.  Sorry this post is a little late, I've not had time to even think about blogging.

REVIEW | PetShop.co.uk dog treats

This post is really different to what I would usually blog about but I was lucky enough to be sent a package of goodies for my pooch from the PetShop.co.uk!  They asked me what sort of food my dog eats, if she has any dietary needs or allergies so they knew exactly what she would like/what she would enjoy eating.  The package came one day after I was told that it had been dispatched so they are super quick with delivery which is an added bonus to the great products and prices.

LIFE UPDATE | passing my driving test & art overload

I've decided to start doing a couple of chatty posts throughout the months that I'm really busy just because I like to read them, and also like to let you know that I am still wanting to blog but I just don't have the time to do everything behind a new blog post!
So this past week has been quite hectic, I finally passed my driving test!!! So I've been driving around like a mad woman, making too many trips to the drive thru McDonald's which isn't good for my bank account or my hips.  I've also finally started to make new work at uni so that's what's kept me really busy.

WINTER BOOT INSPO | ASOS

With the air getting more cold and crisp, I'm getting more and more excited for Winter.  As much as I love Autumn, Winter is the season where you can really wrap up warm and get all snuggled, and best of all CHRISTMAS!!!  With that in mind, I took to ASOS to look for some ankle boot inspiration - there are so many gorgeous pairs I've got my eye on but I managed to narrow it down to five pairs of boots with a price range starting at £160.00 to £34.00.

DOC MARTENS £115.00
I had a pair of Docs a couple of years ago and they were the comfiest boots ever, and the warmest!!  They go above the ankle so if you roll your jeans up then it can be uncomfortable so you either have to roll them up more or not at all.  I love the effect on these boots, they're suede as well so you will have to be careful with the wet weather but other than that, they are gorgeous!

I have always wanted a pair of Kurt Geiger's and it's killing me now I've found these beauties!!!  I love the light camel colour, they go really well with the blue jeans pictures.  I really love the heel on them as well - I like the effect and the height.  Just perfection.  Again, these are suede so you need to be careful in the rain/snow/puddle jumping.

Black boots are a staple for A/W and I love this take on the classic - the faux leather gives them a beautiful finish against the wooden clog style heel.  These are perfect for the season and will be looking out for some in the high street - if I can't find any similar ones then I may just have to cave and get these ones.

Another gorgeous take on the black boot classic - I love the glossy snake effect against the matte black.  The block heel is gorgeous - I have wanted a pair of snake effect boots since this time last year so I think I may have to get some this year.  I've never been one for having loads of pairs of boots, I've only got one at the minute which I bought from Primark (you can see them in my Primark haul), and I've worn them to death recently so need to invest in a new pair!

I LOVE LEOPARD PRINT! I know a lot of people think it's tacky but I just love it, especially with shoes and bags.  I definitely am going to be on the look out for this pair of beauties - the gold detailing on the heel adds a sense of class to the shoe, especially with the suede finish.  The 60s/70s style has been a favourite of mine so I am loving this pair.

Let me know if you know of any bargains for the upcoming cold months!
